We are so excited to be coming up on our 1 year anniversary at the new studio. We took over the space in May of 2016 and this year we are celebrating with an over the top of our Annual Spring Studio Sale! There are a million reasons why you should mark your calendars for this year’s event…
If you missed visiting the studio during Open Studios this past fall, this is your chance to check out the space, see new work by owner & artist Jenni Ward, Ceramic Art Hearts will be available and we will raffle off a small sculpture to a lucky winner!
Talented students from Earth Art Studio will be displaying work for sale, with a special green theme to this years group project. You can also sign up for a Summer Clay Workshop while you’re here! A self guided Seed Bomb making station will be set up to make a take home gift for Mother’s Day.
BUY ART and SHARE THE LOVE!
We donate 10% of all art sales at this event to The Homeless Garden Project of Santa Cruz!
As a special event this year, we will be hosting Nora Dougherty and her mobile art gallery, work.shop. at the studio. Nora will be showcasing her beautiful jewelry during the day and will be showing art movies around the campfire after sunset.
10 other artists in the complex will have their studios open to tour, ask questions and buy art! Some will be offering demos and hands on activities.

Thank you all for making 2016 a memorable year for us at Earth Art Studio! We will be closed through the holidays and will reopen after New Years for studio visits. Classes will resume at the studio mid February, please join the mailing list to get the official schedule as soon as it launches.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy holiday!
Jen & Nate
Thanks so much to all of you who follow me on social media, come to events and ask about what’s going on in my art world, I love being connected to you all! But, if that’s the only way we keep in touch, it’s likely that you’re actually missing out on some stuff…
The best way to solve that problem is to join the mailing list! I only send one email per month, so I promise not to overload your inbox! All 12 emails per year are filled with photos and info all about my art, events and classes going on at the studio. Opening this once a month email is the best way to find out about everything going on in my art world. If you find that you want more info, more often from me, you can always adjust your settings to receive a weekly email from me with all the weeks blog posts from The Dirt.
Interested in classes at the studio? The next email in January will have the upcoming winter/spring schedule!
Interested in buying art from the online store? Upcoming emails will have free shipping codes and let you know when new work has been launched.
We are in the final days of classes at the new studio for 2016 and everyone will be glazing like mad to get their projects finished for the holidays. There are some amazing gifts being created here for some lucky loved ones! I am always so impressed with my students work; their ideas, craftsmanship and commitment to learning about clay makes it an honor to be their teacher. I love seeing how just the process of touching and manipulating clay in their hands can transform their whole day. I hope you can join us next year at the studio!
If you are interested in being cr8iv at the studio, please join the mailing list, our 2017 schedule will be coming out soon!
Need a great gift idea for your kids teachers?
Four downloadable ebooks, Create with Clay 1 – 4 were created with my 15+ years experience teaching clay in the classroom and designed with the help of art teacher extraordinaire Kathy Barbro of Art Projects for Kids.
Each book includes 5 step-by-step classroom tested projects for working with clay. If your kid’s school doesn’t have a clay or art program, this can be a simple way to help teachers give some creative classroom time to their students.
At only $5. each they are an affordable and unique gift for any teacher.

Who didn’t love going on a field trip when you were in school?
This morning I had ten awesome 5th graders come to the studio to make a pinch pot project. Some had never touched clay before but all were excited to get their hands dirty and start playing with clay. I love that their teacher who I happened to meet at Open Studios this year, made the effort to arrange this visit for them and encourage learning outside the classroom.
When you look at the projects in this photo, keep in mind that all of the students were given the same directions, the same examples and yet each one of these pieces is unique and creative. What a great way to start off our day!
