Art at Annieglass

Have you been out to the new Craftbar in Watsonville yet?

Work from my Bone Series is still on display at the Annieglass Craftbar. When you’re there, you can make crafts, drink local wine and of course BUY ART!

About The Bone Series:
The Bone Series is a series of work that is focused on the remains of a form. The pieces imply what is left after the flesh is gone, pieces that need to be reassembled to understand what once was. From small wearable pieces to large installations, this series explores all scales of structure.

Walking the Trail of Umbels

Have you made it out to the UCSC Arboretum to see Environmental Installations yet and walk the 100′ long trail of my Umbel Series Installation? I love this photo taken from a drone that was hovering just over my installation as I walked the trail. Sometimes, it’s good to sit quietly with a piece of art and contemplate it but equally, there is something really nice about getting to experience a work of art while physically moving around it. I think it draws you into to the piece and you notice things you might not of noticed otherwise. So, if you get a chance, I really encourage you to get up to the Arboretum and walk the trail of umbels… and let me know what you think!

Tedious Tasks

Sometimes you start something that you know is crazy tedious and will drive you insane to make and it may not even survive the kiln process but you try it anyways…
Tedious Tasks | the dirt | Jenni Ward ceramic sculpture

I am making some progress but I find that staring at the tiny wires and carefully placing them actually makes me bit nauseous… so I’m only doing a few per day. It will be interesting to see when it’s completed if the clay and wire version has that same fuzzy glow that a real dandelion does. Will keep you posted as it progresses…
