The Relic Series pieces have evolved from an In the Field installation to a wall installation for a museum exhibit to a public art project for a restaurant and finally into these versions of them mounted to slate bases. The ceramic pieces have been fired with a red iron oxide wash making them look like rusted metal, they are tied together with sinew, giving them a raw and earthy feel that still plays with the negative spaces of the forms. I love the minimalist feel to these pieces and how they both blend and contrast in a garden setting.
