Iceland Radiolarian Prints

These images are from an ephemeral installation I created during my month-long artist in residence at the remote eastern end of the island, Fish Factory Creative Centre in Stöðvarfjörður Iceland. The porcelain pieces were inspired by radiolarian skeletal forms, microscopic single cell planktons that live in all oceans of the world. The pieces mimic the intricately perforated patterns of the complex structures. Iceland is a place that is dependent on the health of its surrounding oceans and the perfect place to dive into learning more about these intricate planktons.

Images are printed on metal and have a float mount on the backs, they are available individually or a triptych.
