Artist’s Statement
In my work I have found myself completely entranced with form. I primarily use the coil, spiral or nautilus forms as vehicles to express my ideas. The most fascinating part of these forms is the tensions created within them. I hope to capture the beauty and balance of these abstract forms by exploring that tension. My sculptures have influences of the sea, the forest and from places yet unknown, but regardless of where they are from, they are fashioned to speak with commonalities. Using clay as my outlet I try to create my interpretations of experiences, events and emotions through a medium that I love.
